Chi Tran is a student at Colgate University majoring in Mathematical Economics and minoring in Japanese. Chi left her home country of Vietnam and came to the United States as part of the international student program at Colgate. Chi is actively involved in volunteer community service activities in addition to her academic studies. Chi has completed three internships in her first two years at Colgate, and has been able to integrate her academic concentrations with sophisticated data analytics and data sciences development in all three cases. In addition to her academics, Chi has been involved in a variety of business activities and internships.
During summer 2015, she served as the Marketing Intern of Chicory, an emerging FoodTech start-up in New York City connecting recipe sites with online grocers, and contributed to a 150% increase in blogger acquisition. An entrepreneur at heart, Chi launched and manages her own food blog at www.twopickypigs.com which focuses on restaurant reviews. During summer 2016, Chi completed a Washington DC internship at American Enterprise Institute - one of the most prestigious think tanks in the country. At AEI, Chi contributed to the development of Open Source Policy Center by providing project management insights and research assistance in Tax Policy Analysis. Following the AEI internship, Chi returned to New York as the ALG Fund Analyst for Infrastructure Group, Inc. supporting Algorithm Innovation Fund, LP, a multi-strategy hedge fund that invests in small business loans originated by FinTech platforms using artificial intelligence and data science-based credit analysis and underwriting. During summer 2017 and upon graduation, Chi plans to work in New York with a major global investment bank.
